這次Mental Audio 請到了擁有台灣原住民阿美族血統的 DJ Fion.  Fion 在1992年就開始接觸DJ , 在短時間內建立了個人的獨特曲風, Breakbeat 和Techno 的巧妙結合, 讓喜愛強烈的跳躍節拍的舞客不愛也難. 曾經於2002-2006 在知名LION KING 夜店擔任駐場DJ 同時也負責燈光程式設計規劃.

齊聚眾多才藝於一身的DJ FioN 經常受邀到台灣各地表演也曾經於2007年受邀至中國杭州駐場. 目前身為 BPM Production 團員之一的他積極為台灣電子音樂界推廣活動與文化. 這位才女很大方的接受了Mental Audio 的邀請, 特地為大家製作這60分鐘充滿音樂能量的旅程. Mental Audio 謝謝Fion 帶給大家精彩的音樂也謝謝Fion 用他的音樂為大家的音響做測試. Enjoy ~

On the show this time we have an unique half Aboriginal Taiwanese female DJ - DJ Fion. Fion was introduced to DJ’ing since 1992 and worked her way up to become a resident in the famous club “LION KING” during year 2002~2006, at the same time she was also responsible with the stage lighting designs that gave the clubbers unforgettable clubbing experiences through the nights.

Currently part of the production group called “BPM Productions”, Fion and her team mates enthusiastically promotes electronic music and events through north part of Taiwan. Very pleased to have DJ Fion on the show and hope you’ll enjoy this phenomenal high energy mix filled with beats that will put your speakers to test.

Mental Audio Podcast 06 Presents YOSHI (Part-2 Guest Mix)

In 2010 Yoshi joined force with MiniJay and together they successfully promote “BASS KITCHEN” underground events through out Taipei city. He’s name can be easily spotted at Taipei’s hot events such as Deep Fried House (DFH party), Cloud Party & Havana pool party. If you missed these events you can still find Yoshi playing some deep& funky beats at Quube Bar (Meridian Hotel 5F) every Saturday night. There are plenty of different surfaces explored over the course of Yoshi’s set. Some which make you dance, some which make you think and some which moves your mouse to click on the rewind button. Overall it’s the sort of thoughtful selection of deep dub, house and funk -tech. Big thanks to DJ Yoshi for delivering this intoxicating mix of sound and hope you all enjoy this 60min of pure Yoshi.

From a music lover to a music worker, KAY’s passion towards music

encouraged her to take on her DJ’ing career in year 2004. Before thatshe use to own

a record shop [Lounge Lounge Resords] that supports independent labels

located in the east side of Taipei. 2005 She wasinvited to perform in

Okinawa and established her own Lable [Childisco] in 2006.

Styles from Jazz Funk , Rock, Pop, Indie dance to Deep House,

Tech-house can be heard from her usual sets.

Holding two residencies at the moment, “FiFi Lounge Bar” and “Barcode” Taipei

. She is often involved in various kinds of parties; fashion shows as well as

cultural and artistic events. I was really looking forward to receive this

guest mix and curious about how she’s going to present her music on

Mental Audio. After 60min of careful listening, I felt like I’ve been flirted,

teased and convinced through her music. This fantastic mix is filled with

solid grooves, standout melodies, and a true underground edge.A very big thanks to

DJ KAY for putting this together and hope youall enjoy it as much as I did.

從愛聽音樂到音樂工作者的DJ KAY 經歷許多音樂曲風時期

也因為對音樂的熱忱在台北東區開了一家小小的唱片行

“Lounge Lounge Records” 販售一些獨立廠牌的 Lounge ,Electronica 唱片.

2004 年開始踏入 DJ 生涯, 陸續與一些時尚品牌合作擔任秀場DJ ,

2005 年底受邀至日本沖繩表演, 2006 年成立自己的音樂品牌Childisco [小孩迪斯可].

放歌曲風不受侷限的她從Jazz Funk , Rock, Pop, Indie dance到 Deep House, Tech-house

都是DJ KAY的盤中常客。遊走在地下藝文到時尚走秀中Kay的音樂是一種品質保證.

堅持自己的音樂信念的KAY目前駐場於台北的 FiFi Lounge Bar & Barcode.

經歷許多派對、走秀、專輯混音已及音樂工作. 對他而言音樂是他的生命，

也背負更多使命 . 收到這次的Guest Mix 前心中充滿了期待, 不曉得KAY會用什麼樣的

音樂方式來跟Mental Audio 會面. 仔細把Guest Mix 聽完後,我笑了.

這60分鐘裡我被調情, 被挑逗, 被說服. 雖然KAY 說他是已比較黑暗的

心情來錄製這段Mix 但我個人認為整段音樂很有深度又不會太沉溺在某個

自我的世界裡. 有高有低, 感覺很奇妙. 非常謝謝 KAY 為大家做出這麼優的混音

DJ Shelter began his journy in electronic music since the age of 15. He is affected by lots of british labels such as Global Underground、Renaissance、Gatecrasher、 Fabric. 2005 he started playing for clubs and events based in Taichung City. Shelter’s mixing style is between House、Progressive、Techno topped with elements of tribal and afro beats. Recently he was invited by Odyssey to do a warm up opening for Balance & Global Underground party with Darren Emerso, Nick Warren and Dave Seaman. You can catch him playing live at *inhouse Taipei on Friday or Saturday recidency nights. This special mix Shelter did for us has more housy element then his usual sets heard from Twilight Production events, but nevertheless he still maintained high quality performance and musical sence. Mental Audio Podcast 03 Presents CODE (Part-2 Guest Mix)

DJ Code’s first single “Buddha” from “The Gate EP.” has made it to the top 50 download chart on Beatport in 2009. His second release “ Asia River” was featured on “Kenzo” TV commercials and Discovery channel. Code uses many traditional and modern Chinese instruments in his productions, which makes it easy to recognize his sound by the distinctive oriental elements.

Currently working on his new album “Asia River” CD+ DVD, expecting to be released in mid July with 4 exclusive MV made by visual specialists. Mental Audio Podcast is honored to present you Taiwan’s favorite female house DJ; NINA.

Nina begin her Dj’ing career in the late 90’s when residing in Los Angeles, California, where she was inspired and fascinated by the thriving underground house music scene. The deep, funky, jazzy, and tribal grooves that “West coast house” was founded upon have also been key elements in her dj sets ever since.

Nina was voted NO:1 in Taipei Times News paper "Top DJ Poll" in 2006. Currently holding residencies at “in House” and “Marquee” in Taipei every weekend. She is also known as “Queen Bee” - a contributor for the column “The Vinyl Word” in Taipei times, spreading news about Taiwan’s dance music scene. Since then he has released over 30 singles and remixes. . His recent single release “Our move” has been track listed by Marco Carola in his Essential mix for BBC Radio 1.  The successful track has also made it to the top download track under Nervine Records on Beatport. Jerry’s genuine talent has definitely made the name for himself as Taiwan’s hottest producer. Mental Audio Podcast 01 - ND U (Part-1 Host Mix)

ND U is a DJ grew up in South African now located in Taiwan where he was born. During the time he lived in South Africa, he was deeply influenced and mesmerized by the sound of African house music. After graduating from Sound engineering Course in college he then flied to U.K and successfully completed a course in Advance DJ techniques that is endorsed by the legendary turntable manufacture TECHNICS In Manchester. In 2007 he returned to his native land Taiwan and won the Club House DJ Competition held at The Face Night club in Taipei. As a complete outsider, having been on the island for just 3 weeks, he was able to impress the crowd with his raw talent.

ND U has developed an unique and distinctive sound over the years and he is addicted to

Deep, groovy and techy baselines that makes our body move. Every single mix of his is different from the last, but encapsulating the essential rhythm and groove that is synonymous with ND U’s sound. Currently holding a residency at Villa-herbs Taipei and he aims to introduce freshest quality tunes to the crowd with his newly created on line podcast lable “Mental Audio”.

DJ ND U 成長於南非，但卻是一位不折不扣的台灣之子。由於酷愛house music，在南非完成音響工程學位之後，便決定前往英國的曼徹斯特參加Technics認證的DJ課程，磨鍊精進自己的打碟技巧。07年學成歸國後，立刻以新秀之姿拿下台北The Face Night Club DJ大賽的冠軍。曾於 Luxy, The Face, Ageha Taipei, , champagne3, Barcode, , inhouse, The Soho擔任客座DJ。為了推廣更優質的電子音樂，NDU目前在台北樂利路的 Villa-herbs駐場及統籌音樂；此外，由NDU每月嚴選的”Mental Audio” Podcast 網路電台，也引起熱烈迴響，大獲好評。如果你還沒有感受過NDU的音樂魔力，現在就開始吧！
